Shenandoah National Park and the Appalachian Trail boast endless breathtaking views and hikes appropriate for all. We are only a short drive down the mountain to Nelson 151, which has many wineries, breweries, cideries, distilleries, and restaurants. As part of the Wintergreen Resort, guests have easy access to the Resort's year-round adventures including, of course, skiing and snow tubing during the winter months. The home is only a short 2-minute walk to the slopes; you can ski right down Upper Tyro. The main floor of the home consists of a fully stocked kitchen, large dining table and bar area, the Great Room with comfy seating and a propane fireplace, and a full bathroom. A room is located off the Great Room which can serve as either another relaxation space or can be converted into an additional private bedroom with a queen-size futon. Another room which shares the fire place with the Great Room has a TV and game console. The deck off of the Great Room has a propane grill and propane heat lamp. The lower level of the home has all of the bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, and a private office space. Enjoy a peaceful quiet neighborhood, all while being close to Wintergreen Resort, Charlottesville, Caverns, wineries, breweries, Scenic Natural Blue Ridge Parkway (great central location). this property is the perfect base for exploring all that this beautiful region has to offer. During the summer, you will have access to the Chestnut Springs Pool on the mountain and the Rodes Farm Pool down in the valley. The home is conveniently close to a region that offers a wide range of entertaining activities, including hiking, beverages and shopping. Monticello (Thomas Jefferson's home) is near Charlottesville (about 40 minutes away). Head down to Sherando and Staunton and read some of history from the Civil War and the Frontier Culture Museum. The Stanton Shakespeare theater is about 40 minutes away. Other surrounding areas such as the Blue Ridge Parkway and Afton Mountain also offer a variety of trails. The Blue Ridge Tunnel goes under Afton Mountain. Located off State Route 56 you can hike to Crabtree Falls, one of the tallest sets of waterfalls east of the Mississippi River. In July and August Wintergreen hosts a music festival with concerts, master classes, and lots of related activities. It's a great time to visit. Winter is the prime season at Wintergreen due to its popular ski resort. During winter, the best part of this home is that you can hit the slopes without having to drive or take a shuttle.
