House is located on mountain golf course and in very popular area of the resort. Ski slopes are close by (a few minutes away driving distance). We have a ski parking pass for exclusive lots #1 & #2 for use. We offer morning check-ins and late check-outs at no additional charge as long as there are no conflicting reservations and based on cleaning company availability to ensure 24 min hr turnover for extra COVID precautions. Our house is located right on the Wintergreen Mountain golf course. Perfect location for year-round. After the last Golf tee time of the day, you can walk out a few yards to the third hole from our deck and practice a few hits or even golf at no charge (Holes #4, #5 and #6 are all an easy walking distance from our house). We even have a few golf sets at the house for our guests. This beautiful mountain house sleeps six to eight easily: with two master bedroom suites, each with a king-size bed, large bathroom suite and flat screen TV's. Perfect for a couple who wants to have a nice spacious place for a get-a-way, and equally perfect for two families due to size and the lay-out of the house. Have an infant or toddler? We have all the basic amenities (in a separate closet) you need so you won't have to bring them - e.g. pack-n-play; bouncy seat; infant tub; high-chair; toys, strollers, DVD's etc. The place is also appropriate for those requiring extra assistance in accessing and getting around in the house (i.e. with stairs/steps). The main level is huge and has all the main rooms/amenities on that level (master bedroom and bath; laundry room; living room; dining room; kitchen and deck). The first master bedroom, located on the first floor, is stunning with a beautiful six piece cherry wood bedroom set. It has cathedral ceilings both in the room and master bathroom suite which includes a jacuzzi tub. This bedroom has a separate access to the deck with gazebo. The second master bedroom suite/bath, located on the second level, is beautifully decorated with oriental rugs. It has a small balcony and a sizeable sitting/reading area. The third bedroom, also located on the second floor, has two twin beds and separate bath. The beds can be joined to make it into a king bed if requested. This third room also have a flat screen TV. The second floor has a large loft area suitable for children to play around and even have a sleepover/campout. There is also a sofa bed available on the main level to give you room for eight, if required. All bedrooms, living room and kitchen area have wood ceiling fans. The house has an enclosed garage which is perfect for winter weather. We have a very large mudroom which is perfect to store all your ski and/or golf equipment, suitcases etc. The living area is this rental's real highlight! With a large open living room, wood burning fireplace (perfect for S'mores), entertainment center, a DVD library selection with over 100+ movies(includes a great DVD selection for children) and over 20 board games/puzzles - you'll be living in Mountain Luxury! Our book library has a selection of 'classic' books. We have firewood at the house for our guests all year round. We even have some exercise equipment (in close that can be put out upon request) and a Foosball table. The adjacent dining area seats six comfortably. With additional bar stool chairs at the kitchen, you can accommodate more guests. On any warm or cool evening you may also enjoy dinner on the large deck with gazebo. Our patio furniture sits up to eight people. The well-equipped kitchen offers a full complement of cookware and appliances including a microwave, four-burner stove and oven, coffeepot, waffle maker; blender and more. We also have a grill for outside cooking. Also, don't worry about other amenities like shampoo; conditioner; soap; dishwasher detergent; hairdryers, laundry detergent etc. We have premium coffee, tea and hot chocolate too for our guests. We provide those to our guests along with 400+ thread count bed linens and white bath towels. Also provided include paper towels, trash bags, toilet paper etc. NOTE: During COVID season, we are doing our best to continue to provide toilet paper and paper towels as long as there is availability in stores. Located on top of the mountain and on the Devil's Knob Golf Course, we are down the street from the Devil's Knob Golf Course, Clubhouse and restaurant and many of the resort facilities. The Old Appalachian Trail and many other great hiking trails are also nearby. During the summer, you will have access to the Chestnut Springs Pool on the mountain and the Rodes Farm Pool down in the valley. The home is conveniently close to a region that offers a wide range of entertaining activities, including hiking, beverages and shopping. The summer is a great time to visit Wintergreen for hiking and nature. Drive the Blue Ridge Parkway, Get Breathtaking Views at Wintergreen Overlooks. Go Tubing Down the Mountain. Have Brunch (or Dinner) at the Devil’s Knob Grill. Hike at Humpback Rocks, Hike to The Plunge. Play/Swim at Lake Monacan. See Upper Shamokin Falls. Take in a Concert (or Theatrical Production). Visit the Nature Foundation at Wintergreen and take part in one of their excursions or events, and the 'Treehouse', an activities area for children near the lodge. For older children there is a large video game room (including a bull-riding ride), put-put golf, snow tubing (or a zip line in the summer) and trampolines. Rejuvenate your body and spirit at Wintergreen spa and refresh your soul in the beautiful mountains. Golf at the Stoney Creek golf course down in the Valley. In July and August Wintergreen hosts a music festival with concerts, master classes, and lots of related activities. It's a great time to visit. Winter is the prime season at Wintergreen due to its popular ski resort. During winter, the best part of this home is that you can hit the slopes without having to drive or take a shuttle. Wintergreen offers plenty of activities and entertainment options for guests of all ages, from skiing and snowboarding to golfing and hiking. There are also many great restaurants, shops, and attractions to explore in the area. Don't miss out on the chance to experience Wintergreen in comfort and style. During winter Chair lift and tubing tickets sell out quickly! We recommend buying tickets before you arrive. You’ll find links at wintergreen resort. You may need to reserve ski rentals ahead of time, also (you can rent them from The Ski Barn which is located at the intersection of Rt. 151 and Rt. 664, at the bottom of the mountain. Things to do around Wintergreen, VA: 1. Wintergreen Resort: This ski resort offers skiing, snowboarding, and other winter sports activities in the winter, and hiking, golf, music festival and other activities in the summer. 2. Blue Ridge Parkway: Take a scenic drive along this highway, which offers stunning views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Blue Ridge Parkway and Afton Mountain also offer a variety of trails. The Blue Ridge Tunnel goes under Afton Mountain. Located off State Route 56 you can hike to Crabtree Falls, one of the tallest sets of waterfalls east of the Mississippi River. 3. Crabtree Falls: Hike to the top of Virginia's tallest waterfall, which offers beautiful views of the surrounding landscape. 4. Rockfish Valley Trail: This hiking and biking trail offers stunning views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the surrounding valley. 5. Bold Rock Hard Cider: Take a tour of this local cidery, which offers tastings of their award-winning hard cider. 6. Stoney Creek Golf Course: Play a round of golf at this beautiful course, which offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains. 7. Sherando Lake Recreation Area: This beautiful lake and recreation area offers swimming, fishing, hiking, and camping opportunities. Charlottesville, VA: Visit the University of Virginia, Monticello (Thomas Jefferson's home), and the many wineries and breweries in the area. Take a James River Batteau Tour. Enjoy the Virginia Discovery Museum. Stroll along the Downtown Mall. Go to Carter Mountain Orchard and Country Store. Check Out the Fralin Museum of Art at UVA and more 2. Staunton, VA: Explore the charming downtown area, which features many historic buildings, restaurants, and shops. Read some of history from the Civil War and the Frontier Culture Museum. The Stanton Shakespeare theater is about 40 minutes away. 3. Richmond, VA: Visit the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, the Virginia State Capitol, and the many restaurants and shops in the downtown area. 4. Harrisonburg, VA: Explore the downtown area, which features many restaurants, shops, and historic buildings, as well as the Virginia Quilt Museum and the Edith J. Carrier Arboretum.
